Christmas All Over Again: A Recitation by Ann and Stan Knowles

It's Christmas All Over Again

by Ann and Stan Knowles

I just finished paying for Christmas last year

And it's Christmas all over again.

It seems kinda monotonous to me:

Putting away the Christmas tree and dragging it out again,

decorating the tree, hanging  up stockings,

Buying presents for everyone. . .

Hoping they'll love the gifts you spent hours shopping for,

wrapping them up in pretty paper and tying them with a bow.

Or will they pass them on to someone else. . .Who knows?

So why do we do this every year? What's Christmas all about?

Whose birthday is it anyway: family and friends? Santa Claus?

It's something to think about.

It's supposed to be Jesus' birthday---but folks don't want to think about that.

They're busy buying presents, making a turkey dinner, partying with friends, having a grand old time.

Most folks don't ever think of Jesus,

and some think He doesn't want us to have a good time and enjoy Christmas.

They'd rather leave Jesus out until some other time. So what about Jesus? What does He mean to you?

Here's the honest truth, written in the Bible:

He is God's Son, born in the form of a baby boy in Bethlehem of Judea.

Jesus preached and taught people about God His Father and His love for all of us.

Jesus was cruelly murdered on a cross,

But He rose from the grave,

Defeating sin and death for everyone in the world who believes in Him.

Now here's the question I have for you:

Would you rather trust in family and friends, Santa Claus, or Jesus?

I choose Jesus! He wants us to be happy

and enjoy a good life.

But He wants us to trust and follow

Him first and always.

I will always celebrate Christmas and

Put Jesus first every year.

He's the King of Kings and Lord of Lords,

The Son of God born on Christmas Day.

With a joyful heart, I can say:

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, JESUS!
